MY JESTERETTES

I’m on a roll with my art work this week!   I’ve done more drawing over the past two days than I have over the past month.

The drawing below is a photocopy of an original drawing.  I used Bic markers and they bled through the copy paper, so I’m posting the back side of the drawing, too.  I did the original drawing on watercolor paper and I plan to paint it using either watercolors or acrylic.

NEW DRAWING

Here’s my most recent drawing (s).  It was originally done in Cretacolor Aquastics (used dry) and graphite pencil.

Next, I photocopied the drawing and then redid it twice, first using oil pastels and carbon pencil, then using pastel pencils.

I GOT THE MUSIC IN ME :)

My sister and I attended a Christmas musical theater show together this year.  The two of us were tapping our feet (in unison, but not on purpose) and I was even tapping my leg with my hand to the beat of the music, but everybody sitting around us was doing just that–sitting around without any movement whatsoever.

Whenever I go to any kind of show with music in it, I always move my body in some way with the music and she does, too.  I can’t even imagine being able to sit perfectly still while listening to fast paced music.

After the show, we talked about how we had both noticed that we were moving to the beat of the music and nobody around us was and we both decided that some people have music in their souls and other people don’t.  I’m glad I’m a “do” rather than a “don’t.”  :)

Now if only I had some musical talent to go with it I’d be doing okay.  :)

NEW PUBLICATION AND NEW ART

Gosh, I haven’t posted anything in this blog in a long time!

I guess I felt like it was becoming too personal; after all, who cares about my personal problems besides me?  :) But I’d still like to keep this blog to share my good news and my art.

Good News:

My first poetry publication is upcoming in The Sigurd Journal.   :)

Art:

Below is my most recent drawing.  It’s a bit dark, but my art is very therapeutic for me and if I’m feeling low, it lifts my spirits to let it out through drawing or painting.  I’m so thankful that I started drawing two years ago.  It has been such a source of enjoyment and sometimes comfort to me.

NaNoWriMo

I recently completed my third NaNoWriMo in November and wrote a series of flash stories that I hope will yield at least a few publishable stories; I plan to start revising some of them over the Christmas holiday.   To check out the blog I kept during this year’s NaNoWriMo, click on the appropriate link on my blogroll.
