MIXED MEDIA GIRL, ZOOMED IN

This is the first new drawing I’ve done in a few weeks.  I started off with graphite pencil, then decided I wanted a background color, so I added in pink oil pastel, then I felt like the girl looked too faded, so I added in some carbon pencil  on her face and hair and voila!…a Mixed Media girl.  It’s definitely very unpolished, but I enjoy playing around with my art and trying different things I haven’t done before.   This is not the whole drawing; I cropped it to zoom in on her face.

I draw people a lot for some reason.  I make conscious efforts to draw other things, too, but I always do seem to come back to people.  It’s more fun to me and also at times a way of expressing my own feelings.
